Back to the Basics

6.07.2012

A few weeks ago, I letterpressed my friend Stephanie’s save the dates for her destination wedding.  I took a letterpress class in the fall, so this was my first real project. Here are some photos from the actual production part, Tim came with me to get a few shots (and to help me calm down during my troubleshooting with the press)!  I rented studio time at The Arm (ps they also run classes & workshops), I highly recommend it!

Stay tuned for the actual save the dates! Steph will be sending me the finished product soon (we collaborated), so I’ll be sharing that with you later :) xx

pretty please

4.10.2012

I received my very own Pretty Please polish from NYC blogshop, where I also happened to meet Sara, the owner of Pretty Please. The idea is simple and genius.  Pick a polish color, think of a clever name, &  share it with others! How cute is the Favorable Mention polish?! These polishes would be perfect for any occasion – bridal showers, birthday parties, work events, etc.  The Pretty Please website will be launching next month but if you are looking to order before then feel free to contact orders@prettypleasenailpolish.com or follow them on Facebook.

chinese gift exchange / white elephant exchange

12.22.2011

This year we threw a Chinese / White Elephant gift exchange with friends.  The spending limit was $15 and it turned out to be a lot of fun! Tim luckily picked the very last number and I picked the 2nd to last number – I swear it was not rigged!.  He ended up stealing some Stumptown coffee & a coffee mug and I stole 15 lottery tickets, which won me $27!
Here’s some more examples of the gifts in case you need to throw a gift together last minute (like we all did):
-miniature colander, pasta, & some spices
-disposable flasks (on sale now!)
-snow hat
-plaid scarf
-a bottle of wine
-olive oil & balsamic vinegar
-soaps
-a Playboy (lol this was the most hated gift)
