Happy Friday! Here’s a little inspiration to get crafty this weekend (I need it!). Meet my new artist crush - Julia Goodman.  In the photos above, Goodman is creating a papyrus solely of beets. Read more about Julia here via In the Make (my new favorite site). I kinda want to just move to California right now, so I can take one of her papermaking workshops.

Happy Friday + Super Moon.

5.04.2012

It’s finally here! I swear it’s felt like Friday at least two times already this week.  Anyways, Beach House tickets go on sale today, so it will be a happy one if I can score some tickets :)

This weekend, I’ll be getting back into letterpressing, baking a birthday cake/cookies & hopefully catching up on some sleep (I’d love to curl up in a little homemade tent like this)!

PS Tonight at midnight is the Super Moon!

sort of coal

3.27.2012

When I think of coal, I think of coal mines (Hunger Games!) or grilling.  Mixing both age-old Asian practice & Scandinavian design, Sort of Coal changes the way I ever viewed coal.  White coal naturally purifies the air, body, or water. For example, the first item (the water bottle & white coal) – by placing the coal in the water, it absorbs chlorine & releases minerals.  A coal this size is reusable for up to a month! The 2nd item, the Chikutan Sticks, will absorb impurities in your cocktail & give it a fresher taste. Check out their other products like shampoo, soap & necklaces – I’m tempted to try it!

Flora Grubb Gardens

12.21.2011

After seeing Flora Grubb’s vertical flowers & gardens on Design*Sponge, I knew I had to purchase a few.  I ended up getting the Thigmotrope Satellite Fleet and I absolutely love them.  It puts some life into my room and airplants are perfect for my city dwelling lifestyle.

Strathcona Stockings

11.22.2011

These gorgeous stockings from Strathcona Stockings are definitely going on my Christmas list. They are all hand painted with gorgeous colors & prints. I can’t decide between the Mayan Textile & Space Echo. Shop them here at Etsy & Big Cartel.
