Kate Spade’s new arrivals for spring are fun & vibrant!  I loved them so much, I have decided to try out tennis myself.  My boss is a tennis player herself, so she is donating her first rackets to me & Tim!  I’m so excited to get out, exercise, & try something new.

Flora Grubb Gardens

12.21.2011

After seeing Flora Grubb’s vertical flowers & gardens on Design*Sponge, I knew I had to purchase a few.  I ended up getting the Thigmotrope Satellite Fleet and I absolutely love them.  It puts some life into my room and airplants are perfect for my city dwelling lifestyle.

My 3 brothers & sister-in-law (Dan, Val, Paul & Anette) just recently opened up their Etsy shop No Outlet Group!! These t-shirts are made by hand using eco-friendly fabrics & inks.  Their opening collection includes 7 iconic Depression-era silkscreened prints.

Even though plain denim shorts are a part of the summer uniform, I love how these denim cutoffs make an outfit pop!

market bags

4.19.2011

Fact: About 1 million plastic bags are used every minute.
I forget to bring reusable bags to the grocery store almost every time I go.  My reusable bags are dinky little fabric bags, nothing like these awesome Apolis market bags.  I think if I had a few of these lying around, I’d most likely be carrying one around everyday.  Not only is the design perfect & simple, but they are a part of Apolis’ ”Bangladesh Project”, a project created to help rebuild local economies and creates opportunity for the whole supply chain.

5th Season

4.08.2011

Did you know that we throw away 75% more per person than we did 2 decades ago? Pretty sad.  Check out 5th Season, bags made from upcycled materials.  If you’d like to make your bag a little more personal – contact 5th Season to custom make your bag out of your own clothing or even better, just donate some old items.  5% of proceeds go toward improving education systems in impoverished nations. To read more about 5th Season and how Akiki Oguchi began her journey, check out their site.
