Fall Traditions

10.25.2012

Do you guys have a fall tradition? I usually always want to go pumpkin or apple picking but usually never get around to it. One tradition we’ve been sticking to is pumpkin carving. I’m terrible at it but we drink apple cider/wine and everyone gets competitive :) Thanks for Ben & Kel for hosting! x

Happy Fall!

Blog Bash NYC

8.19.2012

This Saturday I had the privilege of attending Blog Bash NYC, a fun meetup for NYC bloggers. It’s always fun to actually meet in person after checking out someone’s blog/commenting. Thrown by Rebecca from A Daily Something & Michelle Edgemont, Blog Bash was full of amazing decor. Here’s a few photos from the event. I wish I got photos of the flowers by True Florette from the event, they were gorgeous.

We received these awesome swag bags from Blog Bash. They were full of such crafty & creative items, I love them all. Rebecca put together adorable mini craft kits. Thanks to all the sponsors – Knot & Bow, Paper and Olives, Tim Gibson Photography, Pink Olive, Doodads & Noodles, M. Wild’s Studio, Brooklyn Slate Company, Curious Creatures, Pins & Needles, Yes Jess, Ravenna Girls, and the list goes on!

PS had to add this photo of Jimmy stealing my Knot & Bow gift tags. :)

snail mail necessities

6.27.2012

I love getting mail, especially pretty mail. I also do love to send mail out, especially when it’s unexpected. Here are some of my “essentials” for sending some snail mail.

// one. washi tapes. (fun to decorate the envelope with/add some color) / two. alphabet stamps. (these are so fun to use, especially when addressing envelopes) / three. address book. (although I still have mine from high school, i’d love to upgrade one of these days) / four. sharpie marker. (it’s always fun to write big/takes away from the formality of writing a card/letter) / five. rifle paper co cards. (these are my favorite cards & i always have a pack stashed away – i’m a huge paper nerd!) //

we love citrus

6.25.2012

I love craft supplies and basically anything else that clutters up my apartment.  My new store crush is we love citrus. All their items are adorable & bright, perfect for entertaining or gifting. Here are some things on my wishlist.

Back to the Basics

6.07.2012

A few weeks ago, I letterpressed my friend Stephanie’s save the dates for her destination wedding.  I took a letterpress class in the fall, so this was my first real project. Here are some photos from the actual production part, Tim came with me to get a few shots (and to help me calm down during my troubleshooting with the press)!  I rented studio time at The Arm (ps they also run classes & workshops), I highly recommend it!

Stay tuned for the actual save the dates! Steph will be sending me the finished product soon (we collaborated), so I’ll be sharing that with you later :) xx

paintable wallpaper

5.21.2012

Have you ever heard of paintable wallpaper? I’m kinda obsessed. All the papers are made by Graham & Brown. The wallpapers are textured and can be used alone (white), but if you are looking for a pop – just paint over it. The small squares would look amazing on a wall.

Happy Friday + Painting Lounge

4.27.2012

Happy Friday! This went by fast but I’m ready for the weekend. Tomorrow I’ll be attending Etsy’s first wedding event, To Have & To Hold. I’m excited to learn about new vendors & support the independent ones.

I just found out about this place, the Painting Lounge, in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) and I am trying to decide which night to go. For around $60 you can spend a few hours painting your favorite artists’ masterpiece.  The Painting Lounge provides all the art supplies, all you have to do is show up and it’s BYOB ;) A few years ago I went to Color Me Mine in Tribeca and it was one of the most relaxing nights ever. It would be fun to go with a group of friends or solo to meet some new ones.

love and lemons

4.26.2012

I have been in a serious slump when it comes to dinner. I’m tired of the typical after work dinners (stir fry, pasta, fish & potatoes) and need something different (and a bit healthier) – I need some inspiration. Love and Lemons to the rescue!  Started by a couple in Austin, Texas – Love and Lemons is not only designed well but also has great colorful, fresh recipes.

spring cleaning

4.19.2012

Now that taxes are done & the winter jackets are away, I’m ready to get organized. The way our room is set up, our closet is in the living room (I know!) & we are skimping by with one dresser (i get two drawers & Tim gets one :) On top of this, we have a lot of art supplies & miscellaneous items (like shells & matches), so I’d love any or all of these pieces to get organized.

// one. desk organizer. / two. boxes. / three. file cabinet. / four. wall organizer. / five. storage jar. / six. storage trolley. //

pretty please

4.10.2012

I received my very own Pretty Please polish from NYC blogshop, where I also happened to meet Sara, the owner of Pretty Please. The idea is simple and genius.  Pick a polish color, think of a clever name, &  share it with others! How cute is the Favorable Mention polish?! These polishes would be perfect for any occasion – bridal showers, birthday parties, work events, etc.  The Pretty Please website will be launching next month but if you are looking to order before then feel free to contact orders@prettypleasenailpolish.com or follow them on Facebook.
